Digital Athlete Graduation 2023

Digital Athlete graduates

Just recently, our latest cohort of women graduated from the ‘Digital Athlete’ programme, in collaboration with SportsTech Ireland, received their certification at the Sport Ireland Sport Innovation and Technology Summit. This event places a spotlight on innovation, digital transformation and technology in Irish sport and brings together enterprise, technology, and leaders in sport to explore how innovation and technology is shaping the future of sport.

The Digital Athletes programme is aimed at women returners who enjoy sport and have a digital mindset. It is a catalyst for women to re-gain their career in tech, up-skill and pave careers in Ireland’s growing number of sports technology companies. Maire Hunt, Network Director at Technology Ireland Digital Skillnet awarded the graduates with their certification, promising a bright future for the Sport Tech sector with the Digital Athlete Programme.

Gráinne Barry, SVP Global Stats Perform and Co-founder of SportsTech Ireland took to the podium to tell the audience how data & digital is changing how we interact, play and watch sport. People want to understand the story behind sports, and that’s the purpose of data. Ireland has the opportunity to collectively harness data to tell a better story, along with the continuous advancements in SportTech such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Esports.
