About the Trainer

This programme will be delivered by the Irish Management Institute (IMI). Sean Wise

The programme will open with a masterclass from renowned international thought leader and engaging business speaker, Sean Wise.

 
Sean is Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Ted Rogers School of Business at Ryerson University, Canada. He is also a specialist in helping emerging and high growth potential organisations jump on the trajectory and turn a profit.
 
Sean started his first business at 13 and by 27 had already started three new ventures and obtained both his law degree and his MBA. At 31 he took his first company public. At 40 he was nominated for Canada’s Top 40 under 40 and in 2014 he won Startup Canada’s Mentor of the Year Award. 

Sean’s intense, entertaining and direct approach has earned him a loyal following of disciples who swear by his lessons and best practices for business success. He currently presents The NAKED Entrepreneur show, which debuted on the Oprah Winfrey Network in January this year, and is the author of several books on startup life including Startup Opportunities: Know When to Quit Your Day Job;  Hot or Not: How to Know if Your Business Idea will Fail or Fly!; and How to be a Business Superhero. He is separately the writer of the popular Globe and Mail column and book of the same name: Wise Words: Lessons in Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital.
 
A founder of the Ernst & Young’s Venture Capital Advisory Group in Canada, Sean has helped clients raise more than $2.5 billion after training with him.

Brendan Dowling- Course Leader. Brendan is an executive coach, author and serial entrepreneur in the telecoms and technology sectors, having built a number of successful internationally-traded companies. He has worked as a business coach with Enterprise Ireland, Invest Northern Ireland and other organisations, coaching the CEOs and senior management teams of scaling companies in Ireland.

 

He is well-known for his thought leadership and innovation in the technology sector and is a regular speaker at conferences, executive education programmes and government-sponsored enterprise events in Ireland, the UK and the USA. He is also the founder and CEO of Digital Trading, a company offering cloud-based Customer Relationship Engagement (CRE) technology to governments, as well as to large and SME enterprises.

 

Denis Murphy. Brendan will be supported by Denis, an experienced entrepreneur, board member, angel investor, business coach and mentor with a proven track record of building and exiting niche software companies in the mobile telecommunications and enterprise software spaces.  Denis also has expertise in SaaS companies and the metrics they require to manage their growth and support their case for funding.

 

Guest PresentersA number of guest speakers, including business investors and funding advisers, will contribute to the programme and participate in networking activities.  Business coaches will also be present to support content and participants.
